Visitor's Monologue (2)

It was a surprise that Mikumo Eiko left the notes in such a form.

Of what notes remained... all of them contained accurate information about the Visitors.

But at the same time, luck has blessed this one.

There is an easy way to distinguish between humans and Visitors. If the humans had learned this, the position would have grown dangerous, even for us. Fortunately, those notes were rendered unusable.

Even so, Mikumo Eiko was amazingly astute.

What Mikumo Eiko imagined was quite accurate. To begin, the idea that the Visitors arrive through a rift in space-time is correct, as is that the flow of time between the homeworld and this one is different.

The only thing not accurate... the number of Visitors.

It was thought that there were a few hundred? In the place the humans call the other world live ten thousand Visitors, all ravaged by the hunger. Naturally, the procession approaching Kakuriyo Island is that long. Should this attempt fail, another Visitor will come in forty-five years to finish the work, and another in forty-five more, and another, and another...

The humans, with lifespans only one-tenth of ours, have no chance.

If only that traitor had never been born, if only it had never told the humans the way to kill our species... this bountiful world would have fallen to us long ago.

However, the goal that should have been accomplished a thousand years ago will now be fulfilled.

We cannot be stopped.
