~A Foreword from Meister Hora~

What you are about to read is a story about "games" and "detectives".

The main character, Kamo Touma, encounters an unusual event in a mysterious mansion and gambles his life to solve a mystery. In that sense, it is without question a traditional mystery novel.

As before, I am neither the Watson nor the narrator in this story.

But once again, the Ryuuzen clan is involved, so I suppose there is no one more qualified than I to play the role of the story's guide.

As a storyteller, I'd like to declare: I take the fairness of the game very seriously.

So, even if you feel that the things that happen in this story are absurd, there is no need to be intimidated. No... perhaps there are many of you who have long since gotten used to such trivialities?

What is about to unfold... revolves around a core essence of "the brainpower of the detective vs. the brainpower of the murderer". This point will never waver, please rest assured.

So, let us meet again in the "Challenge to the Reader".

  1. Meister Hora is a reference to the German novel Momo, published in 1973 by Michael Ende. His presence made more sense back when the first book was about time travel, I reckon...
